Pausing to Celebrate
We're quick to judge our progress through the lens of I have so much more to go...instead of pausing a beat to look back and see how far we've come.
As season one of the podcast comes to a close, I invite you in to celebrate with me! It’s been one year since I signed up for Cathy Heller’s Your Turn to Podcast program and as I pause to take a look back, I’m in awe of how far I’ve come. Here’s a few stats for the sake of posterity: 1,506 downloads | in 24 countries | across 6 continents. Me. My little show in northwest Arkansas, literally has a global audience. That’s bananas.
There’s so much more than metrics to be proud of though…like the things I’ve learned, the ways I’ve grown, healed and challenged myself. This journey has changed my life for the better. Here’s a few of the things I’ve learned…
There’s no one right way. Some quit without a plan, some planned and saved for years…if there’s one thing I’ve learned through this process, it’s that the only “right way” is the way that works for you.
You’re never “too anything” to start. Your ego will give you excuses all day long to keep you stuck. Call bullshit on that voice in your head that says you’re too old, too young, too loud, too quiet, too shy…be done with that. I guarantee you’ll find evidence and stories to support you, no matter what your situation is.
How bad do you want it? Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. In order to succeed, you have to be committed….legit - there’s no going back, I don’t care how long this takes me kinda energy. When things get tough, you’ll have to tap into that to continue moving forward.
Celebrate your wins! Where your attention goes your energy flows. Make sure you’re pausing to celebrate and reflect on how far you’ve come! Celebrate all the ways you’ve grown, the things you’ve learned and the people you meet on your journey.
